Objectives of the eTourism Monitor

The eTourism Monitor is an initiative led by three R&D institutes of the HES-SO Valais in Sierre. The purpose of the monitor is to provide tourism businesses and researchers with up-to-date information (statistics, study results, etc.) on relevant trends in social media, online distribution or mobile Internet in a Swiss perspective.

La transformation digitale permet de créer de nouveaux modèles d'aﬀaires, révolutionne les processus commerciaux, modifie le développement des produits et crée de nouveaux types de services touristiques. Dans l'ensemble, elle ouvre de formidables possibilités pour les acteurs du tourisme et pose en même temps des défis majeurs.

Le CAS2 "e-Tourisme - l’innovation par les TIC" porte sur l’utilisation des technologies et stratégies digitales au service d’une démarche innovante dans le secteur du tourisme. L'enseignement qui comprend 3 modules thématiques (12 jours au total) se veut appliqué et interactif. Il se base sur des ateliers, des travaux pratiques, des mises en situation et au final à la réalisation d’un projet concret.

Les inscriptions pour le CAS sont ouvertes (Flyer CAS2). Les cours vont se dérouler à la HES-SO Valais à Sierre (CH) du 24 avril au 16 juin 2020. Im Auftrag des Staatssekretariats für Wirtschaft SECO hat das Institut Tourismus der HES-SO Valais-Wallis zusammen mit der Universitäten St. Gallen (Lead Partner) und Bern und der Fachhochschule Luzern, einen Bericht zu verschiedenen Bereichen und Aspekten der Digitalisierung im Tourismus verfasst. Diese Arbeit ist eine der vielen Bausteine rund um das Thema Digitalisierung in der Schweiz und nimmt hierbei ausdrücklich eine perspektivische Sichtweise auf den Themenkomplex «Tourismus und Digitalisierung» ein.

Die Vertriebskosten entwickeln sich zunehmend zu einem wichtigen Wettbewerbsfaktor in der Hotellerie, auch aufgrund steigender Abhängigkeiten im Online-Vertrieb. In Bezug auf die Partnerschaft zwischen Online-Buchungsplattformen (OTA) und Schweizer Hotels halten sich rund 70 Prozent der Beherbergungsbetriebe an die enge Paritätsklausel. Diejenigen, die die Preise digital differenzieren, müssen mit Strafen der OTA rechnen. Dies zeigen die Detailresultate einer Studie mit 329 Schweizer Hotels des Instituts für Tourismus der Fachhochschule Westschweiz Wallis in Siders (HES-SO Valais/Wallis).

Jede vierte Hotelübernachtung in Deutschland (25.2%) wurde im Jahr 2016 über Online-Buchungsportale (OTA) generiert. Drei Portale dominieren dabei den heimischen OTA-Markt mit einem gemeinsamen Marktanteil* von über 95%. Eindeutiger Marktführer ist die Priceline Group (Booking.com), die ihren Marktanteil von 47.2% im Vorjahr auf 54.7% im Jahr 2016 gegenüber der HRS Group (30.4%) und Expedia (10.8%) noch weiter ausbauen konnte. Zu diesen Ergebnissen kommt eine vom Hotelverband Deutschland (IHA) beauftragte Studie des Instituts für Tourismus der Fachhochschule Westschweiz Wallis, an der sich über 1.400 Hotels in Deutschland beteiligt haben.

La part des réservations de chambres d’hôtel suisses faites au travers des plateformes de réservations en ligne (OTA, online travel agencies) a explosé l’année dernière et représente en 2016 plus de 27% du total des nuitées générées contre 20.6% en 2015. Les trois OTA principales que sont booking.com, Expedia et HRS totalisent ensemble 93% du marché des plateformes en ligne. Les réservations directes (client-hôtel) par e-mail ou téléphone ont pour leur part passé sous la barre des 60% pour la première fois. Ceci confirme la dépendance croissante des établissements hôteliers vis-à- vis des plateformes de réservation en ligne et de l’importance de l’internet pour les hôteliers. Selon les projections, d’ici 2020, plus 50% des réservations s’effectueront en ligne et non plus directement auprès des hôteliers. Telles sont les premières conclusions d’une étude de l’Institut de Tourisme de la HES-SO Valais-Wallis de Sierre réalisée avec le soutien d’hotelleriesuisse.

Le Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) "E-Tourisme : l'innovation par les TIC" est l'un des quatre CAS qui composent le programme de l'executive master (EMBA) franco-suisse Innovation touristique. Il est ouvert aux professionnels ; son cursus peut être suivi indépendamment des trois autres CAS qui structurent l'EMBA.

Le Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) "E-Tourisme : l'innovation par les TIC" est construit en douze journées, du 8 avril au 11 juin 2016. Il s'articule autour de trois modules de quatre jours :
- E-Marketing & Social Media dans le tourisme
- Nouvelles tendances TIC et tourisme
- Projet e-tourisme : Game Design dans le tourisme

Il s'appuie sur des intervenants experts, parmi lesquels :
* Gregory Guzzo - Directeur, Station de Val Thorens
* Beer Bergman – Formatrice réseaux sociaux, stratégies web 2.0, conférencière, recherches

Zufriedene Gäste sind die Basis erfolgreicher Betriebe. Zahlreiche Studien zeigen, dass sich Investitionen in die Qualität, Positionierung und Gästezufriedenheit eines Hotels auch ökonomisch auszahlen. Angesichts der Wichtigkeit der Kundenbewertungen muss heute Online- Reputationsmanagement ein zentrales Thema für jeden Betrieb sein. Zum einen sollte durch die hohe Kundenzufriedenheit vermehrt positive Mund-zu-Mund-Werbung bewusst angestossen werden. Empfehlungen von anderen Gästen sind im Tourismus das wichtigste Marketinginstrument, da sie im Vergleich zu anderen Werbemassnahmen ein hohes Vertrauen geniessen und deshalb die Entscheidungen bezüglich der Wahl des Anbieters stark beeinflussen.

TrustYou aggregiert sämtliche überprüfte Kundenbewertungen von online Plattformen für alle Schweizer Beherbergungsbetriebe und erlaubt detaillierte Auswertungen. Die durchschnittliche Zufriedenheit der Gäste wird mit dem TrustScore gemessen und liegt zwischen 0 und 100. In Zusammenarbeit mit hotelleriesuisse und Trustyou konnte jetzt das Walliser Tourismus Observatorium Daten der Referenzjahre 2013, 2014 und 2015 für über 4‘500 Schweizer Hotels und jährlich rund 500‘000 – 600‘000 Bewertungen auswerten.
